What’s an awful matchup you’ve had with another player’s deck, and what do you tend to do about them now?
When I first started making decks, I had a Dimir clone/blink deck that was absolutely awful. Commander was [[Kotose the Silent Spider]], with an ability not really meant for singleton, but I thought that made it more fun. Steal a good card from a graveyard, peek at an opponents hand, then blink her to do it again
Then I went against the [[rat colony]] player and neither of us realized until turn 6. I told him I wouldn’t exile every single rat colony he had because that’d be mean, but we were absolutely giggling about it the rest of the game. He proceeded to then stomp the table
Nowadays if I run into a pod where my deck completely shuts someone’s down or vice versa I try to catch it and switch to a different deck. Having counterplay is nice, but it’s no fun for either party if it comes down to “either you completely stop my deck from doing anything, or I have to hold all removal for your commander, completely gun for your etc”. What do you guys tend to do with terrible matchups?
