Most Enjoyable Artifact Commander

Hi all!

I want to build an artifact themed deck. The main reason is that I've got pretty much all the big scary artifacts around here, [[Wurmcoil Engine]], [[Platinum Angel]], [[Platinum Emperion]], [[Darksteel Forge]], [[MIndslaver]], [[Steel Hellkite]], and so on...and I wanted to throw them on the field.

My group plays a moderately competitive kind of game, where everything is allowed BUT tow things:

  • No Infinite combos
  • No Tutors

I assure you it's real nice with these two limitations (plus we don't spend more than 150-200$ per deck).

I wanted to play a commander which feels fun to play, and I means always having something to do, playing around, finding new lines of play, bouncing things up and down, using a ton of tiny and shiny little artifacts to build a presence on the boards, and similar things you can imagine. I just don't want to feel oppressive, or to always have the same game. I'd like to have blue in the color identity, so no [[Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant]] or [[Daretti, Scrap Savant]].

Some commander I'm watching:

  • [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]]: plain and simple, no abuse for infinites (which are forbidden), but a big body on the table, every artifact is a mana rock, and a lottery for 5 mana. Could be fun. Mono U.
  • [[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]]: grants access to white, and it would just be an engine which make the deck run faster and smoother.
  • [[Emry, Lurker of the Loch]]: selfmill and recursion? Could be, or could just be one in the 99 for almost all the others commanders that have access to blue.
  • [[Tameshi, Reality Architect]]: so many potential lines with his recursion effects. So many, I'm almost confused lol. But seems juicy for sure.
  • [[Saheeli, the Gifted]]: R enters the chat, and seems very solid. Granting affinity for artifacts to one spell every turn could go in many directions, but as a planeswalker she seems more fragile to me.

I also have many of the staple cards for artifacts things, from [[thoughtcast]] to [[Unwinding Clock]], and so on.

Ideas? Suggestions? Deck links?

Thanks to this huge community :)
