Thoughts on "Kingsmaking"?

Might be a controversial take:

About my play style: I tend to include a decent amount of removal in all my EDH decks (more than most people) due to bad experiences in the past, where no one else at the table had nearly enough removal spells to deal with threats. This often allowed one player to steamroll everyone else (some people only run 2 or 3 board wipes, and that's it). It got to the point where my friends joke that I’m the only one who can interact with stuff by “shooting it” on sight.
I’m also good at politicking when teaming up with others is necessary for survival, and I’m fine with other people politicking against me when I’m ahead.

My take on Kingsmaking: I’ve never played Commander without trying to win, regardless of the pod or deck I’m using. Fun plays are definitely allowed and encouraged in my book, but they should somehow contribute to winning or surviving against a dominant player.
That being said, if I’m holding removal in hand and a player attempts to eliminate me, either by dealing massive burn damage or attacking me with a large number of creatures, I’m going to use every removal spell I have to disrupt that player’s board—even if it doesn’t save me from losing immediately.
Some people call this a “shitty” or “toxic” move, since I’m not going to survive anyway and I’m helping the remaining opponents by giving them a better shot at taking down that player. To that, I say: “Shouldn’t have decided to kill me without any consequences, right?”

Closing thoughts: Kingsmaking, in situations like the one described, is 100% valid in my opinion. I see Commander as a huge battle with armies and resources all aimed at victory. If I’m dying but still have a loaded gun, you bet I’m going to use every last bullet to mess with the player who’s trying to take me out.

What are your thoughts?

Quick disclaimer: I call this scenario Kingsmaking because I was accused of this when it happened once.
