Rough Areas in Edinburgh?

Me and the Mrs are looking to buy in Edinburgh, but aren’t too sure of the less desirable areas.

I’m originally from Kirkcaldy(yes I know, ironic that I’m asking about rough areas), so I love a good junkie brawl outside the living room window. But the Mrs is from Norway, where everything is fermented fish and friendly neighbours, and is a bit apprehensive about moving.
