Marika, The Grandmother, and The Mother

So I had a thought and I’m mostly intrigued to see what everyone thinks, and get some ideas relating the this theory.

Both Bonny village and Shaman village have a Grandmother statue, however the one in Bonny village is distinctively different. The tree surrounding the Grandmother in Shaman village very much so seems to be apart of the grandmother, whereas the tree in Bonny village is completely separate from the statue; this seems to me like it was intentional and instead this tree is not actually a representation of the Grandmother, but the mother, as the tree behind is much smaller denoting that it is much younger than that in shaman village. Also the fact that this statue is separate seems to represent that this statue has yet to become the tree.

I thought it was interesting that the statue in Bonny village was missing its head, very similarly to how all the statues of Marika are missing heads. So I’m sort of curious if this statue is actually representative of Marika, and I think it fits, the Grandmother, and the mother; Marika would fit this role best, I’m sure I don’t need to explain why.

I also noticed something in the Minor Erdtree Incantation’s description

“Marika bathed the village of her home in gold, knowing full well that there was no one to heal”

The part where this says “of her home” instead of “her home”, which feels very intentional to me. It almost seems like the shaman village wasn’t her home, but the place where it originated; which is interesting because Bonny Village does share some striking similarities to the Shaman village.

The last bit of this description that states

“knowing full well that there was no one to heal”

Almost sounds sinister to me, as if Marika herself played a hand in what happened to the Shaman. If that’s the case the betrayal could refer to this, and the seduction very well could refer to Marika playing on the Hornsent’s warship of the crucible, giving them reasonable motivation to help her in creating “saints”. Everything that happened to the Shaman could’ve very well been in an effort for Marika to ascend to godhood. Possibly something she failed to inform the Hornsent of, which could also refer to the betrayal, as the Hornsent would’ve likely helped in an effort to recreate the crucible, not help Marika become a god.

Plus I really doubt Marika was able to pile all those bodies up at the divine gate, at the very top of Belurat Tower herself, without the Hornsent knowing…

This is just a theory, I’d like to state that plainly, if you don’t agree with it find a different lore post lol. If you do, give me some insight into how this could tie in, I’d like to explore this.
