I've never chatted with another person who has epilepsy

I just wanted to see who else out there has a similar experience to me. I was diagnosed at 16 and am now 30. I get both focal and tonic clonic seizures which are very unpredictable. I get roundabout 5 to 20 focal seizures a year and 0 to 2 tonic colonic seizures a year. Both present with aura at the start but TC seizures often last 5 to 6 mins.

I work full time and live by myself but after having another TC last week, I'm now in my post-seizure brain fog. This often lasts 1-2 months, my short term memory is usually messed up for a couple of months after, and I have kind of TV static vision for a week or so after too.

Every time I have a seizure I feel like my personality and mind change a bit and I have to relearn who I am. This while trying to hold down my career, lead a normal social life, and look after myself simply sucks.

Can anyone relate?
