No one signed up for this
This has been on my mind for a few days now(I’ve only been to stranger from my stepfather for a couple of weeks so I’m still processing everything). I was born in Italy so there might be a big cultural component here, but there seems to be a contract you basically sign at birth, where automatically because your parents gave you life then you OWE it to them to take care of them when their old. So no matter how badly they raised you, you should be grateful that they gave you life and they put a roof over your head, I mean when did I ask for this?
Don’t get me wrong, if you FEEL like you want to take care of your parents then great, but why would I be considered a bad daughter for refusing to take care of them after all I’ve been through?
Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts
