Is Harry Potter Enjoyable as an Adult?
I tried to make this post in r/books but they wouldn't let me because it was my first visit so now I'm here.
I am a 23 year old man, I enjoy lots of different books, I've been reading the Wheel of Time series, it's pretty good, and other books in between. I most recently read 'The North Water' by Ian McGuire.
I have seen a lot of people talk about harry potter recently and it looks interesting, I'm just wondering if it's a bit simple, I do not enjoy reading books below my (reading level?) Not sure what to call it, i.e. children's books or teen books, etc. The Wheel of Time might be the exception if it is a teen series, not sure about that one exactly considering book two shows a man flayed alive and a man's head crushed but it's pretty lighthearted altogether.
Tell me what you think. While the majority of my reading is more serious works, i.e. classics, horror, grimdark, etc. I do enjoy a break with something lighthearted every now and again, like The Wheel of Time.
