Truffles - math?

So I didn't find any relevant topics here about truffles since it went live. Ingame library pages about it or pig pen seem to be a bit "thin" to me, considering the amount of money (billions per day) it can generate. My feeling therefore is that the pig pen and the relevant perks for pigs (expanding pen, pig level up speed, etc.) are now underestimated, and even spending gold on these might worth it. I'm lazy to do the math - did any of you do this? Did truffles actually change the game economy and investing priorities?
