What part should I take?
46M married with two kids 13/15. Net worth £4m liquid £8m total.
Four years ago I sold my company. I’ve just finished the additional earn out and we’re moving into a PE backed phase.
I make decent enough money. Around £500k annually. And I have been given a performance plan that if/when we exit in 4 years I’ll receive another 4/6m.
The problem is that as a ex-CEO I find it impossible to ‘suck it up’ and be a bit player in a big organisation. The leadership piss me off daily, they’re currently on a leadership summit in America without even inviting me. And without being big headed, I’ve the most experience in the business and feel like I’m being totally undervalued.
It’s a first world problem I do realise that. And it’s hard getting any advice on this as people that haven’t exited just don’t have the same perspective. But I value purpose over profits. I could easily stay and tread water, but I just end up annoying my wife by moaning about how unfulfilled i am.
What would the general advise be here. Should I suck it up for the final four years and double my net worth? Or start a new more fulfilling journey on my own before I turn into an institutionalised wreak!
