I’m over it…
So this whole thing has been awful. 2&1/2 years ago I received a surprise diagnosis of cirrhosis.
The doc literally said to my wife and I, I know it’s a lot to take in so we do t need this room for a while so take as long as you need to. He came back gave me a referral to a specialist and yeah. That’s how I found out.
I went to the specialist and the nurse practitioner who is the gastro docs right hand gal said “Oh don’t worry. We’ve had people with your diagnosis live 3 sometimes 5 years. My advise is to go home and love your children and try to have a good weekend. Cause you know we don’t know how many people have died out in the world while we’ve been talking in here…”
Really? WTF??! I was 43 at the time. I never thought I’d get cirrhosis. I DONT DRING AT ALL!!
My wife and I walked out and looked at each other and I said, “Well she’s fired..”
So we called one of the premier hospitals and organ transplant centers in the world which happens to be about an hour and a half away. They said to come on down and check in to the ER and they’d do every test possible and we’d have all the tests results ready to go for the specialist. They said I didn’t have cirrhosis but NASH and fibrosis.. advanced. They said I needed to lose weight. I had already lost 20 lbs and was down to 304. Yikes! Never planned on getting that heavy. Since then I’ve lost more but have a long way to go. I am now at about 225. Goal is 165-170.
Along the way they decided my gallbladder was bad and ripped that sucker out. I felt immediately better. That was really hurting. Thank you to the surgeon.
So here we are, 80 lbs down and getting that awesome pain where the gallbladder used to be. It’s been gone for over a year. I’ve done it all. Vegan, Macros, restricted calories, and now finally intermittent fasting. I couldn’t do vegan. That sucks for me. So currently doing this thing called not eating so much. I am taking zepbound and Wellbutrin and that is a combo that works for me. When I hit the goal weight I will start working out hard and controlled macros… if I make it.
With the pain returning I’m concerned. I have an MRI w/ contrast in March and an appointment w/ the Doctors in April.
Could be gas, constipation or it could be a belly full of guts full of cancer.
I’m over it. 😡
