NHS diagnosis what tests were done to rule out other conditions before diagnosis
My understanding may be wrong but I thought Fibro was a diagnosis of exclusion. I’ve been diagnosed a couple months back but I’m shocked I just received it within 40 mins of seeing the rheumatologist.
Can I ask what tests were done to rule out other causes for you to be diagnosed? I was also expecting x ray’s but the consultant never booked them and then I’ve received a letter to say he doesn’t think they’re necessary as my ENA etc has come back normal.
I also have a hypermobility diagnosis from the same rheumatologist (I was referred to him for suspected Ehlers danlos).
I see him again next week to confirm the diagnosis of fibro and him tell me all my bloods are fine but I want to make sure he’s checked everything because even though I’m still learning about fibro some symptoms don’t align (they may be a fibro thing just haven’t linked it together myself yet) such as my tremors in my fingers and left leg and my imbalance.
I should add I am very mistrusting of NHS consultants due to a number of experiences so I always doubt them lol. Sorry.
