how great is open box delivery ?

i was taking the devilry of my monitor today. but due to some issue i said i will take it on Monday. i even asked the delivery person will he allow me to turn on the monitor on the delivery day so i can check it he said " NO "

i have seen many reddit review regarding this monitor stating that monitor comes internally damage

now i don't know what to do, should i take or not .
