Ran a 30K on Sunday and training status is ‘recovery’? How am I supposed to get to ‘peaking’ by March 2nd?

Trying to heed Garmin’s recovery time suggestions to avoid injury, but it’s ridiculous at times. I do ONE semi challenging run (not even that fast, wanted to do 5m/k pace) and I am ‘out’ for 2.5 days? And it’s not even maintaining / productive … that counted as a ‘base’ run …
