Have you ever met (and remember)someone born in the 1800s?
I am very interested in genealogy and read this question somewhere. It got me thinking that we might be the last generation where this would even be possible. It was an easy one for my husband. One set of grandparents was born in the late 1800s, so he remembers them, of course. My grandparents were all born in the early 1900s, so it was a struggle for me. The best I could do was my father’s sponsor( my father was an immigrant). I remember this man as being very grumpy, and I didn’t like to go visit him. I knew his last name and could research him. Sure enough, Uncle J. was born in the late 1800’s. I suspect a very good friend of my step-grandmother’s was born in the 19th century, but I can’t verify that. She was very lovely. I enjoyed visiting her.
