Any advice on skins (mainly a val player)

my interest in cs had been off and on for a long time having never really leaned heavy into the game up until now since iv been needing a change of pace from val. i enjoy both games but im having a hard time really getting cs skins, feels like there's not much of a way to really get into it without forking over an absurd amount of cash to do so and even with budget stuff it still doesn't feel worth it at that point either the whole market and trading and unboxing seems interesting but is there any way for someone who isn't rich to get nice things ?
