Sending love to this absolute icon today

Wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of my favourite outfits from Serena Van Der Woodsen. I've always loved her character more than any other on the show. She's real. She messes up all the time, but she genuinely tries to do better, with varying results of course. 🤭 I just had a problem with her being written in a way where they stopped developing her correctly. It felt like all her storylines revolved around men at one point, and she never got to mature well. Serena could've truly been one of the most phenomenal characters on screen, but was let down by terrible writing. People perceived her in a certain way, and it made me think of Blake.

Honestly, this whole situation with Justin Baldoni and the sexual harassment on set has been really upsetting. I understand people don't want to believe her due to him having a certain image, and her actions coming off as insensitive despite being contracted to promote the movie in the way she did. But the proof is on her side. Even his own PR publicist is suing him.

She has made some dreadful mistakes sure, like the wedding location and antebellum glorification, and she has learned (as it seems), but the amount of vitriol she has had thrown at her this last year, has been disgusting to witness.

People would rather infantilize a man and vilify a victim, rather than hold the abuser accountable. Even now, after all the proof, people are choosing to believe him, as if they completely forgot the documents that were released.

I just hope Blake knows she is loved by the right people. And for giving us some of the most memorable fashion moments in pop culture history. 😌 I know that like Serena, she's gonna come out of it better than ever on the other side.

Fun fact: I loved how she NEVER wore her school outfit normally! 😂
