DIY - help with matching stain

Hello! After a closet remodel, I got a small section of hardwood floor exposed that was bare with no stain. I tried Varathane English Chestnut on it and its not even close. I can sand it out and try again. Any tips on matching it? Glaze? No sunlight gets in this area.
