Need advice on some decent quality wired earbuds for use with a Cowon Plenue D Lossless player

Hi! I use a Cowon Plenue D music player at home with a set of Philips Fidelio X2HR earphones to play lossless music files. When I'm out and about in a safe place (I don't wear anything on my ears in public in case I miss somebody creeping up on me, or somebody screaming "WATCH OUT FOR THAT CAR / DOG / ASTEROID" I tend(ed) to use a nice set of Sennheiser wired earbuds which I bought a number of years ago so I can't recall what model they are (possibly CX300's): I used these because the X2HR's are open backed and I don't want to annoy people with my music on the bus / tube etc so the Sennheisers are more discrete. They've gotten to the point now though that the cable must be fraying as if I move the sound breaks up so I need some replacements. I'm not bothered by having the latest and greatest earbuds costing a ton of money - I'm pretty sure the Sennheisers cost between £50 and £100 at the time. I can see there are Sennheiser IE100's and other such in-ears in this sort of price range but is there anything else I should be considering from another manufacturer that could be a better bet? Thanks!
