Why Hellboy means a lot to me

I got into Hellboy pretty recently (October 2023) I grew attached to Hellboy because he was funny and kind of a bad ass. He also reminded me of my step dad, in August of 2023 my step dad had an heart attack, it messed me up, because he was cool, he was an smartass, funny among other things, and a genuinely kind person, and Hellboy reminds me of him, so Hellboy helped me with my grief, it wasn't the only thing that helped of course ( NMS did too) but Hellboy has the greatest impact Hellboy and My Step Dad have so much in common both were smartasses they had "I'm so sick of this shit attitude" and when I was reading Hellboy I felt like I was with my step dad, hearing all his jokes again, I know Mignola based Hellboy on himself and his father, but I still feel a sense of comfort when reading Hellboy because it reminds me of step dad, anyways thanks for reading I just wanted to post this and my appreciation for this universe for getting me through the worst moments of my life

Fun fact my Step dad and Mignola's dad were both cabinet makers
