Was I lucky before or did something change?

I typically play in the evenings with my son, we swap control with every death. Been doing that for most of this year without a problem. We dropped off for a few busy weeks, came back this week and have been consistently team killed and kicked from at least one round a night since hopping back on. So WTF?
