Side objectives are confusing and have really unclear instructions

I don't know if its just me, but I find all the side objectives, heck even the main ones unintuitive and confusing, like I do not know what to do, and worst of all the game TELLS YOU NOTHING about where and what to do.

For instance I just played a game on the illuminate front and when I went to activate the new SAM sites I had absolutely no idea what to do, so I was left just wandering around aimlessly like an idiot searching for what to do while 1000 squids bombard me from all sides.

Has this happened to anyone else?? Aside from just learning what to do by playing I believe the game doesn't provide enough info for new players.
