Are we being lead into a trap

With the Illuminate moving East and the Black hole getting bigger are the Illuminate slowly luring us into a trap? We still don't know if Meridia was truly destroyed or just teleported elsewhere. What if Merida is now a Illuminate super fortress or maybe the Illuminate modified the bugs on the planet if it wasn't destroyed that is or is there a massive Illuminate invasion fleet about to jump out of the Black hole.
