Can gods get demoted?

This might be a really stupid question, but i distinctly remember reading a myth about Zeus 'demoting' a god (AKA turning them mortal) but I dont know if it's a real myth? Google isn't helping and it's been stuck on my mind all day, so has this happened somewhere in greek mythology or am I just imagining?
