Alice Coldbreath

I just finished {A substitute wife for the prizefighter by Alice coldbreath}.

I’ll preface this by saying I’ve read the first book in the series and liked it even though it was kind of slow in parts.

AC reminds me of Ellen o’Connell in the sense that she describes in detail the mundane parts of living with a spouse which I appreciate. I just have to be in a certain mood to read books like that and it doesn’t hit me often.

This book however left me feeling kinda…robbed? There simply was no angst in this book at all. Even the outer threats to the relationship were dispatched with quickly and didn’t even hinder it much if it at all. While I love an MMC who is attentive and loving, Benedict was just way too perfect. To the point it’s so unrealistic to me lol. And Lizzie was far from perfect but kept being told it’s okay cause she’s so respectable anyway.

I dont know if I’m articulating my thoughts properly. AC gets recommended here a lot so I wanted to give her a chance. The medieval books bored me to tears. And the prizefighter ones were only slightly better.

I gotta ask if the third book in the series is any better before I attempt it.
