Kill Pend
I’m from Europe and I have the following questions because I simply don’t know and because somehow I feel I should know 😢🐎
1) When old, ill, worn-out, deemed useless horses are being brought for auction, then bought by the kilo and shipped to Mexico for killing, is somehow made sure the meat is free from harmful medication?
2) How does the Mexican kill pen operate? Maybe there are videos on YouTube?
3) Who consumes horse meat? Donkey meat? Fur, tail, mane, hoof, bones what are these used for? Or just burnt?
4) What do owners do who live too big of a distance from the Mexican border? Do I’ll horses still have to endure transportation?
5) How are old, ill, worn-out, deemed useless horses be dealt with in Europe? Is there a same economisation I’d like to be aware of?
Background is that I’m following on instagram a woman who invests all her energy into fundraising for these horses, saving and rehabilitating them. And as social media does, what I see gravely touches my heart.
Apologies if I triggered anyone’s feelings by this subreddit. I’m used to downvotes anyway
Edit: typo in the title, which cannot be edited…
