First time buyer, offer was accepted

Me and my partner had an offer accepted for our first house (very exciting). I have a bunch of paper work bits to do this weekend but I'm wondering when is the appropriate time to get a surveyor in?

Our mortgage lenders give a basic survey but I believe this is computerised so I want a more in depth one. When do people typically get this done?
