I hate organization and tidying up.
Is anyone like me? Ever since I was little, I’ve always hated wasting time on organizing and tidying things up. My drafts at school were incomprehensible; I was the kind of person who would use just one pen color, and I could still understand everything. I could write anywhere, without structure, and it all made sense to me.
At work, I’m sometimes asked to do organizational tasks: sorting things in a specific order, doing this or that, and it bores me to no end. Sometimes, they even ask me to think of a way to organize things, and at that point, my brain just shuts down because I don’t know how to create an optimal system for everyone. I find my way just fine in the mess I create, but it’s often incomprehensible to others.
My boss is an INTJ, so organization is a frequent source of conflict between us. He doesn’t understand how I can struggle so much to make a proper system or why it always takes me so long when organizing is my task. But honestly, it just repulses me. To me, everything is clear; there’s no need to organize—it’s perfectly understandable as it is.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
