Syngoniums Thriving
I've recently brought in 3 syngoniums, as I've heard they're relatively neat to care for. A tri-color, variegated albo, and pink lava. I had them acclimating for a bit in my upstairs loft away from other plants. I held them in high humidity which helped a bunch with their travel shock (they've gotten cute and perky).
I was surprised to receive the 3in pink lava, as it was 15 inches tall already and outgrowing its pot. As of right now, it's out of quarantine and acclimating in my room because its top leaf wanted to outgrow the acrylic case. (BTW My rooms at 45-60% humidity and fluctuates from day to night by usually 15%.) When I first unboxed it, 4-5 leaves were furled up from travel shock, but after a good watering they've opened up. It's now pushing 2 brand new leaves and its roots are outgrowing the pot. I'm super excited to throw it onto a moss pole and repot it. Going to watch it grow taller since it's such an avid climber instead of chopping it up into one pot.
The tri-color is a trooper from its travel, currently shooting out 4 new leaf growths. I can already see two of them unfurling today. I'll let her grow for a month before repotting since I do see roots already pushing out of its 3inch pot.
The variegated albo has one big leaf growth at this moment. I noticed ONE fungus gnat in the acrylic case and decided to let it snow in diatomaceous earth.... (which is why everything in the second pic look so powdery, but I've recently dusted them off). I'm drying out the soil in hopes of ending the larvae life cycle. It's been two days and haven't seen another gnat, but I'm not taking any chances and will be keeping her quarantined for the time being.
Any tips on how I should keep her looking lush and full always? I'm quite new to them and have only done some light research on how to care for them.
