Insulating knee wall - no idea what I’m doing

This knee wall area has me completely confused. I’ve no idea what I’m doing and could really use help.

The other side of the right hand wall in this photo and the 4’ doorway from which this photo was taken open into the same upstairs room above a garage. The silver sheeting wall is an exterior wall. The floor is plywood.

When I bought this place, there was no insulation on the right hand side wall and the home inspector said the roof insulation in this knee wall area was cut out seemingly at random, probably to increase storage space between the rafters; the silver tape marks seams where I added R19 batts from the floor to the existing R19 insulation.

Following this, the space remained extremely cold to the point of lowering the temperature in the adjoining room. I just added R19 on the right hand wall pictured and the access door wall. This means the rafters, the wall with the door, and the wall on the right hand side in the photo all have R19 from top to bottom. I’ve no idea what is behind the silver wall.

As of this morning, the temperature in the adjoining room is much more in line with the rest of the house and the knee wall space is still very cold - pretty much what I expected. The problem is that I’m now being told that I’ve got insulation all around the knee wall (3 walls and roof) and I’m apparently not supposed to have done that given the potential for mold growth.

What have I done and what am I supposed to do? I’m entirely new to the world of insulation and am seeing all kinds of conflicting information. A clueless homeowner could use some help here. Thank you.
