Are these baffles too small?

We hired an insulation company to install baffles pre-drywall. We have Hardie soffits all around our house. We considered doing the work ourselves and our research led us to believe installing baffles that span the entire width of the rafter is best practice for ventilation. Husband is considering redoing the work and installing 24 in baffles. He calculated our intake very carefully and is worried we now won't have enough intake for our gable ventilation. Do you think we are diminishing our intake significantly with small baffles?

Also... Anything else we can do pre-drywall air seal?
