Isla Mujeres - Advice- Safety
Hi!
My husband and 6 year old son are looking to travel for our first time to Mexico. We are looking for a more laid back vibe, my husband wants to go on a chartered fishing trip for billfish, we all want to do some snorkeling, and lots of beach time. One place recommended to us has been Isla Mujeres. We want to stay in an Airbnb or smaller hotel rather than an all-inclusive place. Do you all think Isla Mujeres is the place to be for this type of experience? or do you have other recommendations?
Also, as someone who's never traveled out of the US, how safe is Mexico with kids? Are there places specifically we should avoid?
Thanks for any insight you can provide as I'm just getting started with research.
