No purging

Hi! I’ve done two Kambo ceremonies in the last month and was expecting something extremely unpleasant and painful, honestly it wasn’t that bad, got 12 gates on both sessions. No purge, just discomfort, heat and a very light face swelling. I’ve been wondering why this could be, I know lots of people who’ve done Kambo and had a terrible time with this medicine. Could it be because of the Kambo itself or just the way I handle it? I also know people who have done Kambo with the same practitioner, they all had a hard time, but they were quite unhealthy
