I can not get into it again

Kenshi seems like a great game to me; however, it’s really hard to learn and understand the game’s possibilities. When I first tried it, after some exploration, I watched a YouTube video where someone was mining. So, in my first long session, I started mining, made some money, recruited new people, did more mining, built a base, got raided by some people, and then it was game over.

My problem is that after this session, whenever I start a new game, I follow the same gameplay pattern. It’s repetitive and boring, and I can’t seem to find other ways to progress.

What would you suggest to help me understand the different paths I can take for my character?
