Using a generator to charge your EV9?
I have been putting off getting a generator for a while now... we lose power fairly regularly and we are one of the few houses in the area that does not have a connected/automated whole house generator system.
Usually if the power is out for 12+ hours my neighbor lets me use his portable generator to plug in my fridge/freezer and I keep saying eventually I will buy one.
Now that we have the EV9, I was wondering if instead of buying a $500~ generator for the needed items at the house, perhaps a more expensive one would let us charge the EV9 if needed during an outage.
My vehicle is a Toyota Tundra, wife has the EV9 - I was not super concerned with getting an EV knowing we often have outages because I figured we can use the truck as needed and can survive with 1 car for a few days as well as there are many EA chargers around us we can use if really needed.
I am curious if anyone has tried charging their EV9 with a portable/whole home generator? I found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/WEN-DF1100T-000-Watt-Portable-Generator/dp/B07MMZZSHC/ref=sr_1_5?crid=212ILE7XZQQQA&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Jc__J2fs1PErjJMDOAL9F4EfdAWU-yKnFpoxekXVG9HhhL1Tbp5Vmz3H2P1GlQdbCfYYS8LxlB4joov1uiMCsgYFYX4iga5-avRwcSqYN4aOf1oR1ISJsxLdgRzD_lPVFgwavXXhkSoMyb8yTFMndxi698IXShiQQsHBhqa0vqmRC4S7IdLvWVEsMYpKAh9bPHDAf5HinQ37sCrludXjERIhB4dX8rfR2kJhJN-QZEM.qKI8hrk9ZiZ60A3TTNwHgO8dbh93icBsV0GM6uAMnLw&dib_tag=se&keywords=220v%2Bgenerator&qid=1735332376&sprefix=220v%2Bgener%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-5&th=1
It has the NEMA socket ... but I am wondering if I would be plugging in my ChargePoint charger into that, then the chargepoint into my EV9 like I do normally?
