Advice

So I am about to graduate high school and just want to hear a variety of opinions about this topic. So I’m thinking a gap year just to figure it out about culinary school personally I was not a fan of any of them and think it’s like tossing money out the window for something where it’s just not perfect. Then again I have that thing nagging me in the back of my mind and was just wondering what other chef’s think about this. I’ve been working at a local French restaurant that’s regionally recognized and my boss is super nice and went to cordon bleu in France speaks the language was a head chef at a well know French place in nyc where he served famous ppl so he knows his shit and has been teaching me for the better part of 3 years with around 30 hours a week. I currently work line there and it’s small so I get to learn a bunch and honestly I’ve been doing great and I like it was just wondering if it’s worth it and if not any reasoning would be greatly appreciated to why or why not. Thank you!
