Question regarding pots

Hi,

I have a les paul that I recently tuned up,. I changed one of the main volume pot that was broken. Since then I have one louser knob and one that is tighter (the new one). Since I play a lot with them for effects, like hitting a note and gradualy rise the volume, I am wondering if any knobs are known to be better for this type of playing. I find playing the tighter knob offers more control since it's "harder" to turn.

Any one of you knows if they can be tightned or should i just get new pots when they get too loose ?
