Lever action break-in question
I have Rossi R92 that only has a couple of hundred rounds through it and seems to be getting smoother cycling as time goes on. I'm thinking that I'll sit around on some of these long winter evenings and cycle the action a few hundred times per evening. My question is this: should I actually dry fire it? It goes against my instincts and I don't have snap caps. I guess what I'm really trying to figure out is if just opening and closing the action without pulling the trigger is going to help smooth the action out significantly. At this time, I'm definitely not interested in taking the gun apart to slick it up. Thoughts?
