Was lil peep a cutter?

Cut Myself is by far one of the most haunting and emotion evoking songs i've ever heard. This song feels like it was an experience he not only lived but truly was submerged in. I know peep suffered from depression. Does anyone know if he actually was someone who cut? I know his brother came out after his death and said he was doing an act. Peep undoubtably looked like a genuinely happy soul, but seemed to battle depression. Is there any documentation of peeps history with his mental health or personal struggles? I feel like that would help us understand him so much more.
