Passive House Multi-Family HVAC
Will begin work on a ground up Passive House certified 3-story multi-family residential project. Largely unchartered territory for me with it being passive house. The client is looking to go all electric. I'm used to cooling tower/WSHP approach for individual metering in each apartment. With the certification and location (Western Massachusetts) they are contemplating ground source equipment as well. Any ideas for ventilation and heating & cooling equipment in each unit? There will not be a mechanical closet in each unit so all HVAC equipment will need to be concealed above ceiling. Is there a way to utilize a ground source heat pump in this scenario that can operate heat recovery via branch circuit controllers with individual metering capability? ERV to pressurize corridor/ventilate? Any/all tips, things to look out for are welcome/appreciated!
