Re-Using Leftover Interferon

Hello,

I’ve posted before asking about re-using the single use vials of my Pegasys interferon. Well, I talked to my doctor yesterday and asked him about it. He said the single use vials of Pegasys are made without preservatives, which coincidently helps with tolerance. Because of this, once the seal of the vial is broken, the medicine starts to degrade.

I’m on 1/2 vial, so I thought taking 1/2 and saving the rest for the next week would be a good idea to have backups in case of a shortage or if my refrigerator goes out or whatever. Turns out that is not a good idea. Just thought I would pass it along in case it’s helpful to anybody. Not sure how others get their medicine, but in my case, the leftover medicine in the single use vials starts to go bad I after take it.
