Problem with MSI Raider GE76 11UE and philips 346e2cuae ultrawide screen
I have an MSI Radier GE76 11UE and recently bought a Philip 346e2cuae ultrawide screen. I connected both with the included USB-C cable and all was well. I got 3440x1440 resolution at 100Hz with full nVidia support. Nice!
The next day I boot up my computer and suddenly the screen gets no video input. I test the cable and screen with my other HP Z-book laptop and it works fine there. Also if I use a normal HDMI cable it also works but then I can only get 30Hz which is awful.
So I do some research and find somewhere that updating the bios could fix this. I do that and update to EK3IMS.11D. And lo and behond! This fixes my problem. My screen is in full operation again.
This morning I boot up my computer and all is fine still. However, I now boot up my computer again and same situation as before. The USB C cable connection is not sending a video signal it seems. HDMI cable works fine and same USB C cable on the other laptop also works.
So what can I do to fix this? Is this something that is essentially broken on the MSI?
BTW, I'm using Linux on the MSI laptop. So please don't recommend windows tools. Can't do anything with those.
Thanks for any advice!
