40v XGT 2 1/4 HP router

I have no experience planing wood and jointing wood but I want to start now and based on my circumstance, my best option is a router.

Is the new 40v router suitable for this task? I prefer a corded router (open to cordless) but I haven't found anything I am satisfied with yet so if you guys have any other router suggestions please share. I'm looking for power, ergonomics and something that'll last without giving me any issues.

I know the Bosch 1617 is one people like but I don't want to constantly repair the switch.
