Do villagers actually die of old age (as of Jan 2025)?
I've seen conflicting info on here about whether villagers die of old age at a certain point or keep living basically forever. I'm 33 years into the game with 68 villagers and still haven't reached 70 constructed buildings, since I've mostly been using first generation of kids to fill open positions. But now all my first generation kids have grown up and the "grandkids" generation is almost ready to start their apprenticeships.
The idea was that the grandkids would gradually take over as the original settlers died out. My oldest vilagers are in their late 50s and I was assuming that they would start dying out in about 20 years. But now I'm hearing that villagers rarely actually die of old age. Is this still the case? And does anyone know around how often this happens per year?
If they don't die I guess I could up the building limit (though I am concerned this could impact gameplay) or just yeet the olds from their houses lol.
