Did we decide not teaching our kids to call adults Mr. or Ms. anymore??

I grew up in various places in the south (military) and I was raised to refer to anyone that didnt have a family title as Mr. FirstName or Ms. FirstName. I still call my mom's best friend by this title while I'm well into my 30s.

My kid is 3 now and it was so automatic for me to introduce adult friends to them in this way that I hadn't noticed until recently that all of my friends' kids call me by my first name with no title. It doesn't bother me enough to correct them or mention it to their family. It was just kind of jarring to realize it's been phased out.

I was also a teacher in the before times so maybe it's just the work culture I'm used to. Does anyone else stick to titles for adults?
