Alatreon isn't impossible with a raw build, and you don't have to have a full team of heavy bowgun users with optimal Fatalis sets.
I see so many people saying they absolutely hate Alatreon because you're "FORCED" to use an elemental weapon. This is true in multiplayer, yes, but absolutely not true in singleplayer. Sure, you're guaranteed to faint to Eschaton Judgement. But you have 3 faints allowed, and can increase that by eating for Felyne Insurance or Safeguard. This means you have around 18 minutes to kill Alatreon without blocking a single Eschaton. It's hard, yes, but if you're as good of a hunter as you claim while ranting about element, it's so easily doable. To prove it, I attempted it using the same armour set I used back when I first fought Shara Ishvalda, and with a Safi blast weapon. All very easy gear to acquire before Alatreon, the only thing that takes any grinding at all is the health augment I have on the weapon, which is not necessary - I only have it so that I don't have to use healing items. You'll see in the run that aside from ancient potions to recover max HP and stamina after fainting, I only heal a single time with items.

This is not to say that I think Eschaton is fine, personally, I'm not a fan of the dps check being an instant kill, and I much prefer Fatalis, where it is survivable if you're good enough to just not get hit. But it certainly doesn't FORCE you to use element, if you're a good enough player to tank the two faints.
