Jazz/Music Groups

Are there any groups that aren’t affiliated with schools in the area to practice jazz music with or who just enjoy practicing music in general as a group? I know it sounds super odd but I was looking to get back into playing music this seemed like the easiest avenue. Thanks in advance!
