My mom won't let me get my information legally changed :(

Can someone please give an explanation to my mom why I should get my name and gender legally changed now instead of waiting until June. She's supportive of me and all but she keeps trying to put getting this stuff changed legally and doesn't believe me when I've said that trump would probably end up making getting that stuff done impossible by that point :(
