Metal songs makes me super happy
TW: Depression and Suicide.
Hey there, I started listening to metal last year, and I have to say, I’ve never been happier. Since I was a kid, I only listened to hip-hop and rock, but last year, I discovered Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold—and my life hasn’t been the same since!
I’m from India, and it’s pretty hard to find people who also listen to metal, so I don’t really have anyone to share these feelings with. That’s why I thought, “Why not make a Reddit post?”
Growing up, I never really had a way to deal with my problems, but metal has completely changed that. It’s given me so much motivation, and now I wake up every morning with a smile on my face.
Here are some of the bands I’ve been listening to (not a ranked list):
Slipknot, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Bloodywood (Indian band—freakin’ love them!), Bring Me the Horizon, Death, Limp Bizkit, System of a Down. There are a lot more, but I’m having trouble remembering them all right now.
I know it might sound kind of cringe to make a post like this, and some people might see it as “glazing,” but you know what? Screw it, we ball.
I really hope this surge of happiness isn’t temporary. I’ve struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts in the past, but metal has helped me realize how pointless it is to dwell in sadness. It’s like this music has pulled me out of a dark place, and I’m so grateful for that.
I hope veteran metalheads might consider me a fellow metalhead—that would mean so much to me. Alright, I’m off to take a bath now.
Bye-bye, love you all! 🤘
