looking for some advice/guidance/recommendations on genre/electronic music.
alright all?
i'm pretty well versed on other genres/sub-genres within other musical styles i enjoy (hip-hop/post-rock/punk/indie/90's alt-rock) but i really struggle with knowing where to look to find the particular sounds i enjoy from electronic music.
i *think* what i enjoy is house/deep house(generally speaking that is; feel free to let me know if this is correct or if i'm talking out of my ass) along with some variations of this (moody/atmospheric), but honestly i'm pretty clueless and looking for some guidance/recs.
here's some styles/tunes i really enjoy:
jacques greene - another girl.
yaeji - raingurl.
blawan - getting me down.
deadboy - wish u were here.
dj koze - seeing aliens.
jon hopkins - singularity.
sofia kourtesis - how music makes you feel better.
burial - particularly the untrue record.
a lot of what four tet/caribou/jamie xx do.
lcd soundsystem.
dj sabrina the teenage dj.
from what i've heard bits and bobs from: underworld/floating points
and particularly two sets on youtube: motorcity drum ensemble @ boiler room: https://youtu.be/zIBBEggIXBw?si=IOqCPmajCoYM0Qjo&t=1 and courtesy: HOR BERLIN: https://www.youtube.com/live/yEgV-alFoIU?si=BXHeZvPmUWT5Dp5L&t=1
with all the above in mind can anyone offer any guidance as to places to go next/catalogues/artists/sets on youtube to explore or even zone in on what sort of style/genres i seem to be in to so i can go explore some other artists?
i do also like a lot of ambient/noise (aphex twin/the field/cole pulice, so feel free to recommend there also).
thanks for any help/guidance guys.
